Here is a healthy Chinese Stir Fry using a Hong Kong people favorite
sauce - XO Sauce. XO Sauce can be found at your local Asian supermarket
or a large supermarket with a good Asian section. Here's the
ingredients.
Ingredients:
(2) tbpsns soy sauce
(2) tbspns XO sauce
(1) standard package of egg tofu
(1) bag of pea sprouts (my Chinese grocery does not let you choose Pea Sprouts 1 size bags)
DIRECTIONS:
Open the egg tofu and cut into slices. Set aside. Next, rinse and
wash the pea sprouts. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce and the XO
Sauce. Set Aside. In a preheated pan, fry the tofu until golden
brown. Next, add the sauce mixture on the tofu. Mix well. The tofu is
naturally crumbly it will crumble it is oK. Next, put in the Pea
Sprouts. Cover the lid for a few minutes and let the steam cook the Pea
Sprouts. Few minutes later give it a few tosses and let the sauce mix
well with the Pea Sprouts. Continue to let it simmer until you see the
Pea Sprouts wilt and soften up. You will see the Pea Sprouts shrink
compared to when you first put them in. When it is all wilted, it is
ready to serve. This dish takes less than 15 minutes to make and it is a
light, and healthy dinner. It also quite flavorful with the spiciness
from the XO Sauce. I hope you will give this a try and I will see you
next time. Thanks for watching.
