Easy Whole Roast Chicken

Here is a new method of cooking a whole chicken that I am testing out.  I am using a chicken stand that I bought from the dollar store.  It is really delicious and I hope you will try it soon.  Heres the ingredients.

INGREDIENTS:
(1) whole fresh roasting chicken
(1/2) can of beer or cola
salt
pepper
garlic powder
onion pepper
Maple Seasoning (optional)
(1) sweet potato (serve on the side)

DIRECTIONS:
Wash and pat down dry the chicken.  Next, rub on the spices to the chicken and set aside.  Next, take your can of beer or cola and pour out half of it.  Place the chicken stand into a roasting pan.  Then, place the can of beer/cola into the insert designed to place the can in of the chicken stand.  Next, place the chicken on top of the chicken stand.  Make sure it is in securely and not fall over.  Place some water on the bottom of the pan so it wont dry out.  Place the diced sweet potato on the bottom of the pan to roast together with the chicken.  Place the chicken in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 45 mins until golden brown.  Cooking the chicken this method makes the chicken crisp up both sides at the same time.  Therefore, it wont be one side will be soggy.  Let the chicken rest for 15 mins after taking it out of the oven.  Slice and serve with the Sweet Potato.  Enjoy.
