Sometimes it is nice to make Jelly from scratch than just from store bought boxes. You can also use the following methods to make up your own flavors to from store bought fruit juices. Doing it this way puts you in the control of how much sugar goes into your dessert. Heres the ingredients.
INGREDIENTS:
(1) packet of Knox Gelatine
(2) cups of any fruit juice you like (1 Pack Gelatine sets 2 cups liquid)
(1/2) cup sugar
(2) tablespoon honey
(1) small packet of Chocolate Pudding Mix
DIRECTIONS:
First, you prepare the gelatine. Open the packet of gelatine into a small bowl. Pour over (1/4) cup of cold water over top. Let the Gelatine sit as we prepare the other ingredients. This step will soften the gelatine and make the dissolving much easier. Pour the fruit juice into a pot. Set to a boil. Pour in the sugar. Next, add the honey. Make sure everything is dissolved. Once its done, set the pot aside. Now we pour the gelatine/water mixture right into the fruit juice. Using a whisk, make sure all the gelatine is dissolved and no lumps. Pour the fruit juice mixture into the serving glass of your choice. Let it cool down, and place in fridge to let set for at least 2 hrs. After 2 hrs, take the cups out. Prepare the chocolate pudding according to package instructions. Place the pudding over top the jelly. Once again, place the dessert into the fridge to let the chocolate pudding for a few minutes to set. To make it extra fancy, you can add some alcohol into the jelly mixture if you are serving adults. This dessert is like a surprise on the bottom kind of deal. Enjoy.
